When Seattle Children’s Research Institute recently acquired the labs at 307 Westlake Ave N, a refresh was needed to brand their space and modernize the facility. As with their other facilities, a new neon sign was constructed. The concept of these signs is to pay tribute to the classic neon signs of Seattle, while adding a fun message about the work they do. Existing architecture in the building had to be dealt with such as a checker board wall that was treated with the monochromatic, sophisticated palette of the Research Institute. Use of the circle dot pattern element creates a strong tie between their other campus buildings. Code required and room identity signage was designed to keep with the clean aesthetic of the architecture and interiors.
